Beautiful Arslanbob

Arslanbob is an area of relict walnut forests in southern Kyrgyzstan. Arslanbob is a tourist attraction in Jalal-Abad region and is located at an altitude of over 1,600 meters above sea level. According to scientists, some of the walnut forests can be more than 1,000 years old. Only in this place there are examples of trees with a height of 30 meters, capable of yielding from 200 to 400 kg of nuts a year.

On the territory of the tract Arslanbob there are more than 130 species of plants, among which the walnut has a special place. According to legend, this plant came to Europe and got its name thanks to the fact that Alexander of Macedon, returning home from another great campaign, took with him the fruit of local trees.

 

In addition to the fruit and nut forests, Arslanbob is known for such attractions as the Cave of Forty Angels, two waterfalls 35 and 80 meters high, the peak Babash-Ata (4490 meters).

 

Since this area is dominated by the Uzbek population, visitors and tourists are advised to dress in a conservative style, avoiding exposing the neck, arms, shoulders, legs above the knees.
